THE VISION

Mt. Baker Housing and Lake Union Partners are transforming the contaminated brownfield site at the intersection of S. Grand St. and Rainier Ave. S into a vibrant new gateway mixed use development. The proposed Grand Street Commons will create affordable and market rate housing, add new retail and office space, and provide an engaging public plaza and gathering space.

Affordable Housing

This development will add 314 units of high-quality affordable housing in addition to 420 market rate apartments in North Rainier Neighborhood for individuals and families

Alley Vacation

Grand Street Commons will create 35,000 square feet of new open space, including a public plaza, improved streetscapes and landscaping.

Retail

The plan for Grand Street Commons envisions the creation of 60,257 sf of neighborhood retail space including anchor retail and office.
